October 24, 2008 - At the Tom Ridge Environmental
Center, Lake Erie Region Conservancy President Tom Fuhrman (center)
presented Senator Earll and Rep. Patrick Harkins (D-1) with a flag in
gratitude for their work on legislation authorizing Pennsylvania to
join the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact.
Each of the Great Lake states that are a party to the compact will
develop and maintain a water resources inventory, and implement a water
conservation and efficiency program.

July 2, 2008 - Legislation sponsored
by Sen. Jane Earll to consolidate the collection of earned income taxes
from 560 collectors statewide to 65 county-level operations was signed
into law. (Act 32 of 2008)

Association panel breakfast wherein discussions took place regarding the
State budget, current legislative issues and the Senate’s agenda. |

June 2, 2008 - Senator Earll met with Mr. Lee Steadman (pictured),
Director, and Mr. Bill McCarthy, President and CEO, of Stairways
Behavioral Health in Harrisburg on June 2. Stairways is a private,
non-profit organization located in Erie that assists individuals with
mental health care needs. Stairways received the 2008 Applause Award
from the Arts Council of Erie. |

May 14, 2008 - The Task Force on Gaming Committee, chaired by Senator
Earll, met to review the gaming regulatory environment in
Pennsylvania. It's part of an effort to reach a consensus on how to best
address and enhance the existing regulatory system.
