Earll: Guide to Student Aid Now Available Online

Information for families preparing for college.

Franklin – State Sen. Jane Earll (R-49) said today that students and families now have online access to the Guide to Student Aid, published by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.

Earll said the Guide provides extensive information on all student aid programs (grants, scholarships, loans and work-study) available to Pennsylvania students, including the need-based State Grant.  It can be accessed at www.PHEAA.org/sag.

"Paying for college is daunting for students and families, and it's important for them to know that help is available," said Earll. "The variety of federal and state grant and loan programs may seem confusing to families, but the Guide to Student Aid helps make sense of it all. It's a useful resource for sifting through the assistance and determining the best source of tuition assistance."

The Guide provides:

  • Timelines for getting ready for college.
  • Eligibility information, application procedures and deadlines.
  • Helpful resources and contact information.
  • Tools to create a student budget to estimate expenses.
  • Ways to indentify financial need.
  • Online resources for forms, research, calculators and more.

Earll said families can also find useful information at www.EducationPlanner.org, which assists students in choosing a career, selecting a school, applying for admission and finding financial aid.
